This is Halloween... This is Halloween...

August is the start of one of my FAVORITE holidays - HALLOWEEN!

Last year a lot of the offerings for Halloween were quite different - all things considered. This year I could not be more excited! From all of the Southern California offerings to the celebrations on the East Coast, there is a lot to discuss!

First, the Disney After Hours Boo Bash at Walt Disney Worlds Magic Kingdom kicked off recently with some frightfully fun activities, characters, and of course sweet treats! The Boo Bash is a new After Hours Event this year replacing Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. While some of the favorites - like a Halloween themed firework show - are not present at this party, there is still so much to do! From short wait times to dressing up as your favorite character in the park, this event is fun for all ages. It truly is a "Boo-tiful" sight to see a Halloween event at the Magic Kingdom again - especially when leaving with your fill of free bottled drinks, ice cream, popcorn, and of course those amazing candy trails!

Disney After Hours Boo Bash runs select nights now through Oct. 31.

Continuing on the East Coast and just a quick drive north sits Universal Studios Orlando. Here you will find Halloween Horror Nights Orlando - an event that is "Horror-ific" in the best way! Be advised this event is meant for the 13+ age groups as there can be lots of gore and language from those of us getting scared by the Scare Actors and Houses!

Going on it's 30th year, this event will draw in the crowds. With 10 Houses (Mazes for us West Coasters) and 5 scare zones... you will be running for cover at some point. Some highlights are the Beetlejuice House, The Bride of Frankenstein Lives House, and the highly anticipated HHN Icons: Captured House. These spooks will scare you to death - or at least that's the goal...

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Orlando runs select nights September 3 - October 31.

Let us now cross the country and talk about our Southern California counterparts. Not to be confused with Orlando, there is another Halloween Horror Nights happening at Universal Studios Hollywood! Here on select nights September 9 - October 31 you will find 7 Mazes (Yes, we know they are houses on the East Coast) and 3 Scare Zones geared towards that 13+ crowd. While little has been announced for this years event, we do know several mazes are coming out to haunt your dreams. These include The Bride of Frankenstein Lives Maze, The Exorcist Maze, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and the Terror Tram! For those of you not familiar with the Terror Tram, this is an opportunity for you to visit the backlot and see when monsters run loose around some of your favorite Hollywood classic locations like the Bates Motel and the War of the Worlds set. There will be nowhere to hide this year and they are ready to hear you scream!

Want more fright-filled adventures? Head just south and find Knott's Scary Farm at Knott's Berry Farm. This image here may not look scary but this event is also one for the 13+ age group. While we have not heard all of the offerings here, there are some fan favorites returning, including the clown-filled Carn-EVIL Scare Zone, The Ghost Town Scare Zone, and an all new Scare Zone called the Gore-ing 20's. There will also be multiple mazes returning including The Depths - with an animatronic Kraken, Wax Works Maze, Pumpkin Eater Maze, and more! Several live entertainment options will also be available throughout the park. Scare Actors and Performers consume every area of the park -which makes this my personal favorite event. Knott's Scary Farm runs select nights September 16 - October 31.

***NEW THIS YEAR!*** SeaWorld San Diego is having the first ever Howl-O-Scream on the West Coast! We are awaiting more information, but we do know there will be multiple Scare Zones and a minimum of 3 houses/mazes. Check back for more info!

Finally we have the Disneyland Resort and the Oogie Boogie Bash - A Disney Halloween Party at Disney California Adventure. Just like the Boo Bash at Walt Disney World, this is another Family Friendly event. Here adults and children may dress up as their favorite characters and trick-or-treat for candies and other treats around the park!

Prepare to meet some of the most beloved bad guys in the Villains Lair as well as see an amazing parade 2 times a night! This parade will feature several of our favorite characters in their Halloween best outfits. Expect to see your friends from Monsters Inc and other Pixar films marching down one of the longest parade routes for a Disney Park! You can guarantee a viewing spot by attending a dessert party or eating at the Wine Country Trattoria for a wickedly delicious 3 course meal which includes a special parade viewing area. It truly is a great time for all and while we will not be seeing the return of World of Color this year, there will still be so much to do! We are excited to see if the Avengers Campus will be getting into the Halloween spirit as well! Oogie Boogie Bash runs select nights September 9 - October 31.

If any of these sound interesting to you - let me know so we can work on planning your trip - Horror or Family Friendly! Message me today and we will make sure your spooky needs are met! Limited availability for these events means you will not want to delay.
